  • Overview

    Blue Origin interns participate in legal projects in association with the business and technical functions supporting the design, development and operations of engines, rockets, payloads, and human spaceflight. Interns work directly with our Legal and Compliance team to help mature contracting process and terms which may include legal research on best practices for effective mitigation of litigation risk for both customer and supplier contracting projects at various locations nationally and internationally. Work may be related to commercial and government contracts, regulatory and government affairs, intellectual property, and sales and marketing. Students gain real-life experience that allows them to apply classroom learning to real business challenges and will have the opportunity to work with their supervisor to develop work product that can be used as a future writing sample.


    Current law students are invited to apply for this 12-week program. Internships are available during the Summer 2019 academic calendar at our headquarters in Kent, Washington. Our interns receive housing and a competitive compensation package including travel reimbursement. Applications require a legal writing sample, which must be submitted by the deadline. Application deadline for Summer 2019 is March 8.


    • Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
    • Students must be currently enrolled in a Juris Doctor (JD) program at an ABA accredited law school and must have completed their 1L year. Preference will be given to students who have completed at least one semester of Contracts study and one semester of Legal Writing.
    • Excellent oral and written communications required.
    • Previous technical and/or business background or experience is strongly desired.
